Foreland school caters for around 180 pupils with profound, severe and complex needs, including autistic spectrum disorder.
Aqua Platinum were appointed for the swimming pool design of a state of the art hydrotherapy pool for regular use within Foreland school. The high spec pool will be constructed from the insulated panel system with stainless steel fittings, which will dramatically reduce the running costs of the facility for the school.
Hydrotherapy pools are renowned for combining the benefits of exercise and soothing warm water, which as a result, allows muscles to relax and eases pain in joints. The water of that in a hydrotherapy pool in comparison to a regular swimming pool is much warmer. Averaging temperatures of 33 – 36ºC encourages range of movement and strength. Foreland school now have the luxury of containing physiotherapy equipment for pupils on site.
