One of Aqua Platinum Projects’ latest achievements is the restoration of the Saltdean Lido.
Five miles east of Brighton, Saltdean is a coastal village with the lido sitting proudly on the seafront.
Originally opening in 1938, this grade II-listed lido has been enjoyed by many over the decades, up until several years ago following neglect, closure and nearly demolition.
After local volunteers led a campaign to raise £3m,7 years later the open-air pool was restored to its 1930’s glory. The renewed pool is 42 metres long, 1.9m deep and for the first time since 1940 – heated.
In addition to this, the children’s pool has been fully renovated with interactive features and slides being included in the design.
Approx. 3000 people celebrated the grand reopening that took place on June 17TH of this year, with the weather of a perfect English Summers day.
Aqua Platinum were honoured to have been appointed pool contractors to work on this impressive project.
