1 – 5 Grosvenor Place

Also known as “The Peninsula”, this exciting development is based on Hyde Park Corner in Belgravia – one of London’s most celebrated addresses – and will boast both hotel and residential facilities. Linked by a series of ballrooms and shops, this incredible building is set to make its mark on the London landscape.

Aqua Platinum have been given the opportunity to design and build the luxury amenities that include two 25 metre lap pools and two vitality pools for the hotel guests and residents’ respectively. All of the pools have been designed with a hybrid edge detail providing a minimal freeboard whilst still allow complete perimeter surface drainage, a fantastic solution to the age-old aesthetic vs function conundrum.

Further to this, we’ve been given the chance to showcase our workmanship with the inclusion of four steam rooms, four saunas and two ice dispenser features; all with their own individual concepts tailored to suit their surrounding environments.

The Peninsula is due to welcome guests from 2022, where 26 of the 190 rooms will be exclusive luxury accommodation which will offer the residents an ‘oasis of serenity’ in the heart of the busy city. The design and architecture are due to reflect Belgravia’s distinctive heritage and exhibit the best of British culture, art, and cuisine.

Park Modern 

Park Modern is Hyde Park’s newest collection of super-prime residences, offering 57 apartments overlooking Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The property faces the park from the south, allowing residents to enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset from their apartments.

The building’s exterior design will feature an unusual rippling façade, rather than a rectangular box to represent the parkland and nature that surrounds it. The interiors have also been carefully considered to maximise the views, with large windows, high ceilings and a light colour palette allowing the surrounding parkland to do the talking.

These design features will continue in the reception area and on the wellbeing floor where work is currently underway for a residents-only spa that will include treatment rooms and a gym that will overlook Aqua Platinum’s stunning 25m swimming pool and spa installations.

Nine Elms, Parkside 

Set in the heart of Battersea, the Nine Elms project will see the development of plots B & D at the former Royal Mail centre. Construction is rapidly progressing and we are due to attend site imminently. The site is set to create a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood to include up to 1,950 residential units, a primary school, retail units and community facilities.

The Nine Elms area is undergoing one of the largest regenerations in London, making it the heart of a very exciting place to live. Close to the River Thames, this will become an extremely vibrant riverside location, with new green spaces, shops, restaurants and bars.

Plot B will feature a stunning lap pool overlooking the heart of the Nine Elms area and plot D will host a beautiful modern pool and spa designed to be the social hub of the development. Both pools will include an infinity detail running to the edge of the building, giving the users the impression that the water flows off the building; a striking detail that really furthers not only the aesthetic but the experience. We are thrilled to be working alongside both Telford Homes and Greystar to bring these concepts to fruition, and to tackle challenges outside of the norm (being rooftop developments).

Aqua Platinum Projects are delighted to announce we have been awarded an outdoor pool project for a private client in Clapham Old Town. After a competitive tender process, the client ultimately chose to progress with APP due to our inclusion of market-leading, eco-conscious waterproofing, rendering, and tiling products, alongside clearly detailed information regarding the high-specification materials and plant equipment that we utilise as standard.

Aqua Platinum Projects were awarded the design & build contract for the development and installation of a family outdoor swimming pool, separate spa pool, and sauna within the adjacent pool house.

We have worked closely with the Client during the detailed design phase to development and installation that will perfectly complement their new detached family home in London.

A key element we detailed during design, was the ability to winterise the main pool during the colder months, whilst keeping the spa pool fully functional to enjoy on those crisp winter evenings.

Aqua Platinum is thrilled to share that we have secured several design contracts for prestigious residential projects across the UK. Our latest design contract is for a private client looking to develop their plans for a bespoke wellness facility at their home-based in Fulham, London.

Our client could see the benefit in utilising our detailed design services to develop a design that exactly meets their requirements. During our design phase for the installation, the design varied slightly, and we were on hand throughout to help explore ideas and add detail to the requirements of the surrounding works that would be undertaken by others, whilst providing realistic budget costings to inform decisions.

Showcasing the very best examples of pool and spa design from across the country, the UK Pool & Spa Awards celebrated its tenth anniversary with featured projects and products.

Winners across 30 categories were announced during a virtual presentation. The 196 entrants were awarded gold, silver or bronze standard in the competition covering both home and public pool and spa facilities in a contest that attracted over 2,000 on-line votes and votes from judges, before being scrutinised by an independent jury.

Pool Contractor of the Year 

After what has been a unique and challenging year for us all, We’re really proud to announce that Aqua Platinum Projects have been awarded ‘2020 Industry Pool contractor of the year’ at the UK Pool and Spa Awards.

 

This award is credited to all our fantastic staff who have remained focussed and resilient throughout the past 12 months, ensuring our valued clients continued to receive unrivalled service on their unique projects. I would also like to personally thank every single member of our trusted supply chain, along with our loyal sub-contractors, who have worked extremely hard to minimise disruptions during these unique times.

COMMERCIAL SWIMMING POOL OF THE YEAR

The Headland Hotel & Spa, Aqua Club

 

The Headland Hotel, Aqua club was firstly award ‘The Commercial Pool Project of the Year’ the judges advised within a very high standard of competition, this project stood out to them for the number of swimming pools in one complex, the technical specification, use of lighting and characteristics.

 

The Aqua Club was also awarded, ‘Health & Wellness Project of the Year’ with comments from the judges, ‘this project speaks for itself, the quality of design, build and technical specification won it for us’.

 

Aqua Platinum Projects have designed and built the multi-million-pound project that includes a total of six pools including a 25-metre lap pool, an indoor vitality pool, children’s pool complete with jets, air pads and water mushroom, a traditional sauna with a curved glass front, outdoor vitality pool and sunset spa pool, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Aqua Platinum have worked closely with architects Lilly Lewarne for the past four years, to design and build these world-class facilities for the hotel. It has been an important factor to incorporate the gorgeous Cornish waterfront throughout the design and we have done so by including a ‘wavy’ wall in the lap pool and a beautiful, hybrid, heated edge pool that circles the sunset spa pool that frames the idyllic waterfront. Whilst the outdoor vitality pool is complete with a Cornish granite menhir, this will enable guests to immerse themselves in the beautiful surroundings and relax while taking in the stunning Atlantic views.

 

The Aqua club is located on land between The Headland Hotel and its cottages. Building of the 2,215 square metre club started in October 2017 and is now open to hotel guests.

The plantroom is over 260 square meters and includes state-of-the-art filtration equipment. The six swimming pools boast the highest specification filtration and water treatment available including pumps and filters from our trusted supplier Waterco and UV water treatment from Triogen.

 

1000’s of man-hours and continued commitment from the team have resulted in the successful delivery of this project. We would like to thank every single member of the team who helped to deliver this project, all our valued suppliers and JE Stacey who have been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to working together on future projects.

 

RESIDENTIAL INDOOR SWIMMING POOL OF THE YEAR

Stone House 

 

We were presented with Residential Indoor Project of the Year for our outstanding project Stone House a large-scale refurbishment of the Grade II listed manor house underwent installation of a tailor-made swimming pool and spa area within the basement of the property.

 

The design saw a unique feature of 8 steel columns passing through the swimming pool. The design and build of an 18m lap pool with steel columns passing through the pool. These columns had to be incorporated into the pool design and finish, adding an exceptionally technically challenging feature rarely seen in swimming pool construction. Alongside this feature there are double-sized steps running the entire length of the pool with strip lighting and a bespoke cantilever tile detail.

 

The indoor pool hall is complete with a unique designed 8 seated spa, with LED strip lighting and warm jets. The pool hall also includes a detailed ducting design due to the domed ceiling heights and external glazing. The project also included a 19m external infinity edge pool with slatted cover.

We are delighted to announce we have been awarded the design and build of the resident’s amenities at the Cherry Park, residential development next to the prestigious Westfield Stratford City shopping centre.

The development will deliver a £650m Private Rented Sector (PRS) residential scheme, adjacent to one of the Group’s London flagship destination, Westfield Stratford City. It will one of London’s largest single-site PRS schemes. Construction has already started on the site with the swimming pool works due to roll out at in March 2021.

The amenities will include a 25metre lap pool finished in the highest quality mosaic tiles and a bespoke spa which includes powerful massage jets, creating individual massage stations for residents. The pool and spa will be constructed with a deck level detail to create a relaxing over flow and aesthetically pleasing high end design.

In addition, APP have design wellness facilities that include a traditional sauna with, alder wood finish and a bespoke tiled steam room.

This new residential quarter in the heart of Stratford City is an example of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s strategy to significantly increase the densification of exceptional and highly connected retail destinations by adding offices, residential, hotels and other uses, where relevant. With the Cherry Park Partnership, we are leveraging our unique know-how and joining with strategic capital partners to reinvent city districts.
