Reaching our 10 year anniversary in 2021 provided an excellent opportunity to review our time Aqua Platinum Projects has been in business and our wealth of completed projects. I am delighted to launch our new branding for Aqua Platinum Projects that will take us forward another 10 years a further cement our place as the leaders within the industry.

Nothing is more challenging to me than working at the pinnacle of high-end construction projects delivering complex and multi-disciplinary packages for the most demanding main contractors and end-user clients. Aqua Platinum Projects has never been in a better position to do so. Aqua Platinum Projects are delighted to announce a recent design contract for a private client based in Essex, UK. Our private client has requested the development of an 11-metre architectural infinity edge/deck level lap pool with various features and incorporating a one-off sculpture at one end of the pool.

The deck level detail will see the water cascade into a stone filled trough to create a stunning infinity edge to the dining area of the garden, creating a calm and tranquil space for our client to relax. We are working with the client to develop the construction and detailing of the pool.

Aqua Platinum are delighted to announce we have been awarded for Engineer of the Year 2022 for our Swimming Pool Service Engineer, Lewis Rooke, as voted for by The UK Pool & Spa Awards. Lewis started on an apprentice scheme 11 years ago with our previous company PolyPool, since then Lewis has worked his way up to become a Service Engineer with Aqua Platinum Servicing ltd.

Working mainly on our pool maintenance routes, Lewis typical day would be around 4-5 services in and around London and various locations in the South of England for some of our highest end clients. Carrying out the required tasks to ensure the sanitation and functionality of the pool maximising client satisfaction and full enjoyment of their facility.

These range from the typical poolside tasks such as removing all debris from the pool using the pool net, brushing of the pool walls and floor and vacuuming all debris for a clear crystal body. Lewis’ main time spent on a service visit would be within the plant room, ensuring all pool equipment is fully functioning to its full potential and reporting any anomalies for rectification.

Typical tasks in the plant room would be the replenishment of chemicals and backwash of filters for introduction of fresh water to the pool. With being fully trained with Bayrol Automatic Dosing Units, Lewis would then check and clean the probes, injectors, ensure all dosing and sample lines are clear and intact, finally recalibrating the unit to ensure all readings are correct.

Lewis’ typical call outs would be heating failure, system shut down issues or signs of leaks in the plant room. The most challenging part would be working with high-profile clients where the demand is always a true Rolls Royce. This is challenging however, also rewarding knowing that our servicing and maintenance is a class of its own.

Lewis mentioned, ‘I’ve worked with Aqua Platinum for 11 years and I’m now a fully-fledged member of the APS team. New standards in luxury and elegance

1 – 5 Grosvenor Place, also known as “The Peninsula”, this exciting development is based on Hyde Park Corner in Belgravia – one of London’s most celebrated addresses – and will boast both hotel and residential facilities. Linked by a series of ballrooms and shops, this incredible building is set to make its mark on the London landscape. The Peninsula London, owned and operated by The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, will set new standards in luxury and elegance when it opens in 2022.

Aqua Platinum have been given the opportunity to design and build the luxury amenities that include two 25 metre lap pools and two vitality pools for the hotel guests and residents’ respectively. All of the pools have been designed with a hybrid edge detail providing a minimal freeboard whilst still allow complete perimeter surface drainage, a fantastic solution to the age-old aesthetic vs function conundrum.

We are pleased to share an update on The Peninsula London 1 – 5 Grosvenor Place, both of the 25m pool shells and vitality pool shells have recently been sprayed and formed in concrete and with the rendering, tanking, and curing of the tanks begin completed this week. Two weeks after tanking and on inspection the render is agreed to be fully cured, the pools shells will then undergo a wet test.

Further to this, we’ve been given the chance to showcase our workmanship with the inclusion of four steam rooms, four saunas and two ice dispenser features; all with their own individual concepts tailored to suit their surrounding environments at 1 – 5 Grosvenor Place. Works on the thermal wellness area will take place shortly and we look forward to bring you future updates on the development of this site.

We are pleased to announce completion of Auriens Chelsea, a new luxury later living development opening just off the King’s Road in London. Aqua Platinum were delighted to be appointed as the design and build contractor for the residents’ wellness facilities on this outstanding development. No detail has been left unconsidered; not only to achieve a beautifully designed pool but also to provide Rolls Royce of plantrooms, based on a Devin Consultancy’s specification, Auriens Chelsea is the most incredible project we have been a part of.

World-class Design

The resident’s wellness facilities include a 15-metre deck level swimming pool with a bespoke triple slot detail for the level deck trough, complete with parallel secondary drainage slots to pick up excess surface water. Our designers thoroughly thought out the strategy to deliver this detail which included bespoke stainless steel supporting frames, ultimately achieving a crisp and clean linear aesthetic. The trough continues seamlessly through to the vitality pool which includes two air massage recliners and a large stainless-steel bench for residents to enjoy.

The pool is complete with a bespoke Himalayan salt sauna, which gives health and wellness benefits through Halotherapy. Salt levels in our bodies affect our energy, cell activity and blood sugar levels. The negatively charged ions found in Himalayan salt help to improve our moods and overall health.

The Rolls-Royce of Plantrooms

The swimming pool and the vitality pool are located on the lower level and accessed via the spa. Beneath the world-class facilities lies the plantroom which in itself is the best plantroom that Aqua Platinum have ever built. The state-of-the-art filtration equipment installed is of the highest quality that could only be found in a Devin specification, from the custom-made pumps and strainers to the deep bed filters, medium rate UV units and much, much more. The control panels were made to order to allow full BIM integration, allowing the facilities management team to control and monitor the systems with the utmost ease.

We worked closely with PDP architects, a renowned London based firm, who designed the contemporary building with inspiration from the elegant Georgian townhouses of Chelsea, implementing a warm brickwork design, classic proportions, and utilising the distinguished setting. In addition, Aqua Platinum worked alongside Multiplex, building on our ever-growing relationship to deliver this major development in the midst of a global pandemic. We thank both the Auriens’ team, Multiplex and our valued suppliers that made this milestone possible.

Auriens Chelsea has been an incredible project to be a part of, whilst with its challenges. Aqua Platinum are delighted to have delivered this project to the highest standard and whilst doing so learnt valuable lessons that we will execute on every project going forward.
